Capacitor discharge is ideal welding process for welding diamond segments on cup wheels, core drills, disc cutters, circular saw blades etc. Artech is already supplying machines regularly for this application. Projection welding is a resistance welding process. Projections are made on any one of the components before welding. The weld area and location is defined before welding in projection welding unlike in spot welding where weld area depends on the shape of the electrodes. After passing the weld current for specific time, the projection collapses under the electrode pressure and the parts are welded together.

The advantages of projection welding are that multiple projections can be welded in one shot, flat electrodes are required for welding, minimum dents and marks after welding etc.

Medium Frequency Direct Current machines use an inverter, powered from a 3 phase supply in which the current is rectified using diodes and then chopped by means of IGBT's into high frequency alternating current. This alternating current is then transformed by the welding transformer and again rectified. DC current is thus obtained at the secondary side in to the parts to be welded.

The MFDC welding machine load is evenly distributed across all three phases. This allow equal load to be drawn from each line, thus reducing peak draw on any one line. The price of MFDC machines is higher than the conventional Alternating current (AC) machines but users will get advantages such as three phase balanced loading, weight reduction in transformer, about 20 to 25% less power requirement as compared to AC machines, better control over time and uninterrupted energy input into the parts to be welded. 

Medium frequency is an ideal machine for spot welding of Aluminum, Galvanized sheets (GI), Electro galvanized sheets (EGI), Stainless steel and of course low carbon steel

Artech is manufacturing semi-automatic Stainless steel Imepeller Projection Welding Machine. In this machine one side of the impeller is welded in one shot and then other shroud is welded to the fins. Aesthetics are excellent and no water cooling is required. Artech is supplying these machines to most of the submercible pump manufacturers in India.
